See and do
Just a spectacular 2 hour drive from Melbourne you come to the village of Wye River, deep in wilderness, rugged and remote from busy towns.
For enquiries and bookings contact our agent Sharee at Seahouses on 0418 313 468 or info@seahouses.com.au
See our photos here.
In winter there is a warming wood fire, as well as split system heating and cooling. Our windows are double glazed and you will be snug inside.
On the balcony, relax and watch the waves with a drink. You may be visited by some Crimson Parrots, or sometimes Black Cockatoos visit the trees nearby. The rare Rufus Bristlebird is a common visitor in this quiet hamlet. If you are lucky you will hear the sound of a Koala grunting in the trees nearby.
For couples who like to take their pet away with them, we are dog friendly.
TAKE THE 3D TOUR

Find bliss with the steam shower
You’ve had a long week at the office with stressful deadlines and too many projects. Or you’ve done some hard physical work and have throbbing muscle aches and pains.
Here at Sea Zen you can relax and rejuvenate with your own private steam shower. Our steam shower is a large beautiful enclosed shower space with stunning travertine stone tiles and a glass wall. You sit on a comfortable Swedish designed stool and enjoy the experience before turning on the shower for a rejuvenating dose of water.
The power of steam showers in relaxation and detoxification has been known for thousands of years. They evolved from the steam bath which was invented during the Roman Empire.
Some of the benefits associated with steam showers –
- cleansing, hydrating and rejuvenating the skin
- relieving the pain and discomfort associated with muscle pain
- relaxing and soothing mind and body
Steam showers are similar to a sauna but not as hot, heating up to about 40 degrees with steam. Your steam environment will help you relax and rejuvenate during your Sea Zen stay. Use the spa and the steam shower and create your own luxury spa experience at Sea Zen.
Local Koalas
We’re not sure of his name and not even sure if it is a he or a she, but we’ve decided to call him Jeremy after our wonderful carpenter. In any case, Jeremy the koala seems to have taken up residence as we see him at least a few times a week in our trees or just walking up the driveway. The Sea Zen environment is home to birds and other wildlife, you’ll enjoy every day.
We have WiFi and welcome dogs
Sea Zen is dog friendly and welcomes dogs (and owners) who like having internet access. We know you sometimes have to stay connected even though you are in relax and holiday mode. Sea Zen provides you with internet access for all the fun things as well as the times you just have to do that work email.
Enjoy our secluded local beach
A 60 metre stroll to the beach, literally a 2 minute walk. Does it get better than this? Most of the year our secluded Separation Creek beach is yours alone. Enjoy white sand and rock pools.
When the waves have retreated and the tide is low, you can enjoy the artistic design of volcanic rocks and peer into the small pools of water that form on the rocky shoreline. Life under the waves is endlessly fascinating with seaweed, starfish and kelp forests wafting in the water. The rocks are also a favourite spot for fishing.
Check Sea Zen availability by calling Sharee from Seahouses on 0418 313 468 and book your next break soon.
Places to see, things to do, the best foodie experiences
We’ve been down here on this spectacular coast for many years and in that time experienced the best it can offer. We love researching and exploring and have compiled some useful guides for our guests. We’ve written the Sea Zen Food Lover’s Guide with our recommendations of over 20 places to eat, drink coffee in our neighbourhood, along the coast and in the hilly Otways behind us.
And there’s also our compilation of the suggested activities, our favourite best things to see and do if you want to have an active stay with us.
